A New Start… Again!

Some people might know it already, although I have generally tried to keep it low-key in the last months. Big changes are coming, and a lot sooner than we were anticipating!

Starting the beginning of May, we will move to Switzerland 🇨🇭
We have been talking for a while about leaving Munich, as we have grown out of the city life, and Germany in general. It was a great step after Ireland, it was good to come back to Central Europe (although we both love and miss Ireland) and to be closer to family and friends. We made a choice based more on our personal lives than working situation, and overall we are glad we did it.

Recently, however, we have experienced some difficulties at our jobs. During the second half of last year, my company went through multiple restructurings, and it was clear I was not going to work there for much longer. As tough as it was to look for other opportunities, I was happy to have found a new job in Switzerland. New city, new country, new job, new field even (bye bye autonomous cars!). So there was A LOT going on.

But when big changes are head, it is also extremely precious to see the staples too. Just as much as when we left from Ireland to Germany, it is of extreme reassurance to know that Daniel and I, and Paca and Emily of course, will all still be together. Long gone are the times when I used to pack my stuff and start from scratch in a new place. I am not as young as I was back then, and I incredibly appreciate having a solid support system with me. Each choice, each move, is not just for me, it is now a chance to continue our journey together and to improve life for all of us. And that is precious. It sometimes comes with what feels like anxiety and pressure, and that is inevitable, because of course I care a lot about my family. But it is important to take time to breathe and remember that it is going to be OK 🙂

The transition from Germany to Switzerland is going to be a challenging one, mainly due to me starting my job earlier than anticipated, and might result is some back-and-forth and a little of time apart for me and Daniel, but overall it’s a great adventure, and we are looking forward to it!

Wish us luck, and once we are all settled, I will try to post more

As usual, if we haven’t spoken in a while, let’s chat or have a phone call 🙂
